Cong protests over pensions
The district Congress leaders staged a massive demonstration at the Warangal Municipal Corporation here on Friday protesting the government’s approach towards pensioners. Former Minister Baswaraju Saraiah, ex-Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, former Mayor Errabelli Swarna, DCC president N Rajender Reddy, City Congress president T Vidyasagar led the agitation.

Former Minister Baswaraju Saraiah, ex-Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, former Mayor Errabelli Swarna, DCC president N Rajender Reddy, City Congress president T Vidyasagar led the agitation.
They squatted at the office entrance along with elderly persons, widows and physically challenged whose names were removed from the recently updated list. They raised slogans against the government. The police prevented the protesting Congress workers from entering the corporation to submit a memorandum to the Commissioner. The Congress activists and the police jostled leading to a mild tension.
