During his visit of the Lace Park on Wednesday, he appreciated the efforts of the rural women for promoting export of knitted items. It was a moment of pride to see the women expand their business opportunities all over the globe. They had registered remarkable success with their knitting skills. They found market for the local talent in foreign countries. All women should take an inspiration from their success story, he said. Justice Ramana said the Lace Park had become a suitable platform for local poor women to eke out a living with their skills. The government schemes would also help the local women achieve financial self-sufficiency. The schemes would offer new opportunities to women for their financial gains. They could support their families grow economically. Ultimately, women could achieve development on their own, he said. The Acting Chief Justice and his wife Sivamala were overwhelmed by the skill shown by the women in making traditional and modern clothes more attractive at the Lace Park. Sivamala showed immense interest in a knitted umbrella and the justice expressed his joy by sporting a skull cap used by Muslims�both prepared by the local artisans. The Acting Chief Justice lauded the efforts of West Godavari district administration in effective implementation of Abhilasha programme.
