Update: 2018-12-15 05:30 IST

Dusting, mopping, cleaning the house, and turning it over to get a new festive look is a ritual, an extended one at that, which happens before every big festival in every household. We see it for Diwali, Dasara, Ramzan, and we see it for Christmas.

And these activities by default fall upon women despite the minority among men, who do believe they have a part to play in the house work, especially a major one like the festive cleaning.

In today’s world when both men and women work for long hours and come home every evening tired and hardly manage to do bare essential of daily living, festive cleaning in nothing short of nightmares.

“The whole fun of the festival is diluted for me when I start thinking of all the cleaning it involves. I have sleepless nights over this. However, I postpone it until I can because its impossible on week days, and during weekends we are either too tired and want to relax are out on some invitation,” shares Swaroopa, who works in an MNC.

Coming to their rescue are evidently online residential cleaning services that are not only most sought-after during festival times, but also come up with discount packages for the season. More and more people are opting for these services to save themselves from the back breaking labour.

A group of service people arrive at your home depending upon the extent of work, and with mechanical precision go about the job of cleaning the house and lo and behold your house is all shining and ready for the festival. Its just not cleaning and dusting the rooms and bathrooms, every nook and corner of the house, cupboards and almirahs, upholstery and carpets are all dusted, cleaned and arranged to your liking.

Isn’t it every woman’s dream to be able to sit and watch as her home gets festive ready? Online cleaning services do just that with minimum fuss.
The residential cleaning services market existed before but had always faced growth issues in the previous decade. due to the lack of technology & relying on only a few means of spreading awareness such as word-of-mouth, yellow pages, recommendations, limited-functionality booking websites etc.

However, over the years, with the rise of mobile apps, increased use of digital technology, the services are today just a tap away. More so, with dual incomes more households can afford the services. No wonder we have many players venturing into the 100-billion-dollar market - Housejoy, Timessaverz, Urbanclap etc., and the recent entrant QuikrEasy.

The latter that after rebranding in 2017 has added home services to its portfolio bridges the gap between the offline home services ecosystem (the local service providers) and the online demand of the same through hyperlocalisation.

QuikrEasy provides verified listings, a ratings and review service along with options to call service providers or request a call back. More, or less the same working model with a few differences are adapted by all the service providers.
