Teach for Change goes Pan-India

(NASDAQ: PEGA), the software company empowering digital transformation at the world’s leading enterprises, and ‘Teach for Change’, a non-profit organisation developing English language and leadership skills among under-privileged children, today jointly announced the national expansion of their literacy program to bring quality education to millions of school children (grades 3-5) across primary government schools in India.

The ‘Teach for Change’ movementcollaborates with state governments to improve the literacy rates and life skills of primary school childrenin municipal schools. It was co-founded by Lakshmi Manchu andChaitanya MRSK in 2014 and aims to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 4 is Quality Education).

The programmealready presented in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Vijaywadaand Vizag, will now expand to Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennaiand Lucknow, successfully operating in eight cities.Thousands of committed citizens across cities volunteer to teach children in their neighbourhood government schools. With this, the goal of the literacy program is to positively impact 1,50,000 children across 1,000 schools in India. 

The well-attended event was attended by prolific names such as Member of Rajya SabhaJaya Bachchan, Member of Rajya Sabha Smt. Renuka Chowdhury, Member of Parliament Smt. 

Moon Moon Sen, Politician Smt. Geeta Reddy, Padmashri Awardee Mohan Babu, as well as member from the Indian film and fashion fraternity including Aditi Rao Hydari, Sunil Sethi, TapseePannu, RakulPreet Singh, Rhea Chakrobarty, Regina Cassandra, Sooraj Pancholi, Kubra Sait, amongst others

Speaking about the nationwide launch,Co-Founder & CEO Chaitanya MRSK says, “I am thrilled to see what started as an individual effort in 2014 is now a nationwide movement with 3000 volunteers.
