A total of 76.55 per cent of those who have appeared for the Common Entrance Test (OUCET)-held for four universities �Osmania, Telangana (Nizamabad), Mahatma Gandhi (Nalgonda) and Palamuru (Mahbubnagar) have qualified for the post graduate courses. The results were declared on Monday by Prof.S Satyanarayana, Vice-chancellor of the university. The pass percentage has improved compared to last year. The subject-wise rank cards of individual candidates were hosted on the OU website www.osmania.ac.in/admissions

The rank cards will not be sent to candidates and they have to download it from the website, according to Prof. Shivaraj,Director of Admissions. The counselling is likely to commence from the last week of June at Nizam College, Basheerbagh. The subject-wise counselling schedules will be placed in the website. The classes will commence from July 23, after two rounds of counselling, the vice-chancellor said.

The highest number of candidates appeared for a PG course was MCom wherein a total of 7586 candidates have taken the exam and out of them 5009 candidates i.e. 66 per cent have qualified. The pass percentage for PG courses in Sciences and Humanities and Education was quite impressive and above 74 per cent. The fee structure will be same as last year, the vice chancellor informed.

Osmania is the most preferred destination for most of the aspirants and if they don't get seat here, they would then look into other universities or affiliated autonomous colleges. Any ranker can opt for any college in any varsity. In fact,the entire Telangana region is treated as local and the pass outs of other varsities such as Kakatiya, Karimanagar will also try their lot for a seat at OU.
