One of his three projects selected out of 289 entries for representing SingaporeA

hp2G Prithvi, 17-year old student, an alumnus of Hyderabad Public School(HPS), Begumpet is to represent Singapore in "The Intel International Science and Engineering fair" to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA from May 12 to 17. Prithvi's project was one of the three projects selected out of 289 entries for representing Singapore.

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) is the world's largest international pre-college science competition, provides an annual forum for more than 1,500 high school students from about 70 countries, regions, and territories to showcase their independent research as they compete for over $3 million annually. The Intel ISEF is the premier global science competition for students in grades 9�12.

Talking of his achievement, Prithvi says "the recognition is the result of hours of my hard work, and it is the first success towards fulfilling my ambition to be scientist."

Back home in Hyderabad his grandfather Mr. GG Chowdary who is President of, Sri Power Gen.(India) Pvt Ltd, is very jubilant about his grandson's achievement. Speaking about his grandson he said, Prithvi migrated to Singapore with his parents in 2002. He is currently in 12th class at St. Andrews Junior College, Singapore, and his ambition is to become a scientist and do research in Particle Physics.

Prithvi was working on research into high performance anodes for Lithium ion batteries using Cobalt compounds obtained by bulk preparation methods at National University of Singapore, and the project was selected for participation in the Singapore Science and Technology fair held recently. Prithvi's research project which has commercial potential, not only won a Gold Award at the Singapore fair, but was also is one of three projects selected out of 289 entries for representing Singapore in the prestigious "Intel International Science and Engineering fair" to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA from May 12 to 17.

Incidentally his father Mr. G. Sashikanth was also an alumnus of the Hyderabad Public School.
