Dr A Anitha Reddy, Head of Commerce department of Kasturba Gandhi Degree & PG College for Women, Maredpally, Secunderabad has replaced Usha Rani, former Principal of the college. A student of Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Maha Vidyalaya, Hyderabad, she is working in Kastuba Gandhi Degree College for Women for the past 29 years. She said that her mission is to give best education with values for the benefit of the students to excel in their endeavours and to become promising citizens of tomorrow.

Encouraging her students to aim high in life she said that women are excelling in various fields like science, technology, aerospace, defence, flying, sports. Some women also become astronauts and they go beyond earth and explore and conduct research for the benefit of mankind.

Speaking to Young Hans, she said that many students these days go to various coaching classes to learn new skills. They waste time while commuting. She has proposed to conduct various coaching classes in the college premises. The main courses proposed are ICET, banking recruitment for clerks, probationary officers and personality development courses like meditation, yoga, and stress management classes to avoid students falling prey to depressions and tensions which at times lead to abnormal behaviours and suicides.

They have signed an MOU with Sri Medha Coaching Centre. "Chartered Accountancy has gained demand in the recent past. With the increase of banking and finance institutions and liberalisation of the economy the courses is providing attractive pay and career growth. Sri Medha is also providing coaching for ICWAI along with CA." she added. There will be special classes for MPC and BiPC students.
