Siddhartha Institute of Engineering & Technology (SIET) in Ibrahimpatnam believes in creating engineers and technologists of tomorrow with human values Established in 2008, Siddhartha Institute of Engineering & Technology (SIET) in Ibrahimpatnam is affiliated to JNTU- Hyderabad and approved by AICTE New Delhi. lt is spread across 14 acres of land with calm and serene atmosphere surrounding it. "Our motto is to make a student industry ready and also at the same time a very good human being with values and ethics," says the Principal, Dr Krishna Mohan. Academics: The institute offers courses in five various disciplines: CSE, EEE, ECE, ME and Civil engineering. The college also offers MTech and MBA courses. To ensure the slow learners don't fail, the faculty conducts special classes for the students after college hours. Soft skills training The unique thing of SIET is that they have a soft skills trainer to train the students in communication skills and employability skills. "We believe not only in teaching but awakening the minds of students will make them ready for the corporate world. "I give rigorous training in soft skills to all the BTech students. Skills such as communication ability, group discussion, interview skills, employability skills and work ethics are important for students to be industry ready," says soft skills trainer, Sushma. Social activities The management, staff and the students are actively involved in many social activities like conducting free health and blood donation camps in nearby villages, visiting orphanages and old age homes. Co-curricular activities: The institute gives importance to physical fitness and encourages its students to participate in sports and indoor games and conducts SCL-Siddhartha cricket league every year. Faculty talk "The management gives us ample freedom and resources to make the students understand technical concepts. The teaching methodology involves conceptual teaching and focusing on weak students. The college works towards the betterment of students," says the teachers unanimously.
