Established in 2010 in Hyderabad, NRI Academy, Kukatpally, found its footing in just about three years among the city students. Offering MPC, BiPC, MEC and CEC streams, the junior college was set up to provide quality education to students aspiring to join professional course. The institute has 18 branches in Hyderabad alone.
"What sets us apart from other junior colleges is the monitoring programme that we have adopted to assess every child to ensure if he has understood the lessons or not. Else the whole idea of teaching will go in vain," says Dr V Srinivas Rao, state IIT co-ordinator for NRI Academy and the dean of Kukatpally zone.
The NRI Academy is spread across nine cities of Andhra Pradesh, namely Guntur, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Tenali, Vijaynagram and Eluru. A For CEC and MEC students, training for CA-CPT test is also given. And for MPC and BiPC, along with IPE classes, coaching in entrance tests like JEE, NEET and EAMCET are also given.
"We might not be very senior in the field, but our students, every year, come out with flying colours. This year's junior inter results show the highest score of 467 of 470 in MPC, 434 of 440 in BiPC and 490 of 500 in MEC," informs Dr V Srinivas Rao. The institute's biggest achievement is selection of 1,330 students for JEE Advanced test.
