How engineering students made it to the top

Grandhi Srujanaraj, Second rank

top1Son of Grandhi Kameswara Rao and Prasanna Lakshmi of Rajam, Srikakulam district, Srujanaraj studied SSC at Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Intermediate and Eamcet coaching at Sri Chaitanya College in Visakhapatnam. His father who is a hardware trader said that his son has secured first rank in Amruta All India talent test and scored 318 marks out of 360 in the IIT main exam. He had scored 983/1000 in Intermediate Board examination. "My father is a businessman and my mother is home-maker. I am very passionate about Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. My passion and hard work gave me a fruitful result. My future aspirations are to study in IIT-Delhi and later pursue my MBA from IIM," he adds.

Kandula Dinesh, Eighth rank

top2Kandula Dinesh of Venkatapuram, in Mudigonda mandal, a student of Sri Chaitanya, Vijayawada has consistently excelled in academics throughout his schooling and college. He wants to pursue computer science in IIT and later join the Civil Service to become a Collector. His father, Srinivasa Rao is a teacher in the government school at Rajeswarapuram in Nelakondapally mandal. Dinesh secured a free seat in Sri Chaitanya after getting the highest marks in the 'Pratibha' test conducted by the institution. He has been securing top marks in all subjects till date and got 981 out of 1,000 marks. His sole aim was to get a top rank in Eamcet. Srinivasa Rao pointed out that Dinesh would study for 12 hours even on a holiday. Prasuna, his mother, felt that her son got fruits for the hard work he had put in. She observed that their children had no other interests and that the family even did not purchase a TV set so to avoid any diversion from their study. Dinesh was a student of SVM School, Khammam till Class VII and Sri Chaitanya from Class VIII onwards.

A Ravi Chandra, Ninth rank

top3A Ravi Chandra expressed his happiness and joy at securing a good rank. He attributed his success to his parents, teachers and also his hardwork. "I used to study from 6 am in the morning till 10.30 pm. I put all my efforts to score this rank. I scored 968 in my Intermediate examinations. I want to major in Computer science engineering from IIT Bombay and if everything goes on well, I want to pursue higher studies and also hold a Phd doctorate," he adds. Ravi Chandra's father, AV Nageshwar Rao, is an AG's office employee and his mother, Padmaja is a SBI bank employee.

Bodda Gowrishankar, Tenth rank

top4Son of a police constable, Bodda Gowrishankar studied intermediate at Sri Chaitanya College in Vijayawada. His father Bodda Jayanthu works at Town Police station in Amalapuram. Gowrishankar scored 576 marks in Class X examinations and stood first in Konaseema. He also excels in sports. His family hails from Pedanounipalli village of Nandigama mandal in Srikakulam district. They shifted to Amalapuram five years ago. He said his hard work and commitment has paid off rich dividends. He hopes to excel in academics in the future as well and make his parents proud.
