Although, this process may take a year or two to start, the modalities have to be worked out the moment the bill is passed in the Parliament, according to officials of both commission and Council. Top rung engineering colleges like JNTU Hyderabad, CBIT, Srinidhi, Vasavi, Gokaraju are located in Hyderabad and most of the convener and management quota seats will have go to Telangana region after division of state. The total functional engineering colleges in AP is 690 and out of them, 342 are in Telangana and the remaining 348 in Seemandhra. The university engineering seats under convener quota will have to be totally filled up by Telangana students and more than 80% of seats in management quota seats will go to Telangana region.

Even in medical stream, some good colleges like OMC, Kakatiya and many private ones have been located in Hyderabad and the natural beneficiaries would be students from this region, according to an official of Department of Medical Education. Hyderabad has five state-level prominent universities- University of Hyderabad, NALSAR Law varsity, English and Foreign Languages University, which are central varsities and Telugu varsity, Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University. There may not be any issue with central varsities, which have a separate admission process basing on pan India mode, the two other state-level varsities shall have to be bifurcated now. Similarly, the NTR Health University at Vijayawada, Horticulture University at Tadepalligudem and Padmavati Mahila University at Tirupathi will have to be divided.

The RGUKT (Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies), which is the governing body of IIITs will have to go slight modification as it has three institutions in three regions. The IIT, BITS, ISB adds color to the advantage of students of this area though not on academic front but due to its location.
