The issue relating to the delay on the part of the authorities in not fixing a calendar for completion of the counselling for admission to Engineering colleges in the state will now be heard by a division bench of the state High court. Justice Nooty Rama Mohan Rao who earlier heard the plea and sought information from the government on Friday referred the writ petition to a division bench.
The writ petition is filed by Tummati Leela Krishna complaining of delay in initiating admission process into engineering colleges jeopardised his career and that of many students.
The state government on Friday informed the court that the issue of online admission process for filling the management quota seats has not yet been resolved and the final judgment is awaited. The judge felt that the issue may be placed before a bench.
Private college managements challenged the government’s orders on conducting online counselling for the seats which come under their domain (category-B). This issue has brought the entire process to a grinding halt. More than 2 lakh Eamcet rankers have been waiting for the direction of the court on the issue.
