Former Telecom Secretary and President-elect of NASSCOM, R Chandrasekhar exhorted the students of IIIT Hyderabad to concentrate on job creation instead of seeking lucrative jobs. Addressing the gathering on the occasion of 16th Foundation day of IIIT-Hyderabad, he said- “Studying at the best institute will naturally give you an advantage of getting best jobs. But you should not be after it rather think on creating job for many others. That means you should become good entrepreneurs”.

Former Telecom Secretary and President-elect of NASSCOM, R Chandrasekhar exhorted the students of IIIT Hyderabad to concentrate on job creation instead of seeking lucrative jobs. Addressing the gathering on the occasion of 16th Foundation day of IIIT-Hyderabad, he said- “Studying at the best institute will naturally give you an advantage of getting best jobs. But you should not be after it rather think on creating job for many others. That means you should become good entrepreneurs”.
He expressed happiness that IIIT-H has already been treading on this line. Chandrasekhar, who was considered as the brain behind IIITH, congratulated the students and faculty for what he called as developing a culture of research that is so important for the progress of the Industry in the country while also delivering a good crop of young professionals who meet the needs of the Industry.
Earlier, he inaugurated the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), which provides mentoring, funding, high-tech equipment and a massive network within its entrepreneurial system to its incubated companies. The centre, which was housed in a 25,000 sft space, with 35 incubated startups and 12 funded startups, is one of the largest incubators in the country.
Prof Raj Reddy, Chairman of the Governing Council of the Institute addressed the audience from Pittsburgh. Prof PJ Narayanan, Director of the Institute, Ajay Sawhney, Principal Secretary of state government, Prof UB Desai, Director of Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, Srini Raju, Peepul Capital, BVR Mohan Reddy also shared their experiences.
