Faculty of Science and Technology of The ICFAI celebrated 46th Engineers Day on September 12 and 13 by organising various thematic events at its campus in Hyderabad. September 15 is observed as engineers day in India as a mark of respect to Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visveswaraya, the greatest engineer who has born this day in 1860.

The chief guest Dr T H Chowdary addressed the students and faculty on various issues of Engineering education and employability of engineers and presented a enthusiastic power point presentation on “Engineers for creation of wealth” the grandeur the old India was at one time. The splendor was spread far across the world and was known for its prosperity and richness. He emphasised on the minds of staff and students that we Indians belong to such a great heritage the vastness of which cannot be measured.

Dr Chowdary emphasised and contradicted the generally held belief of factors necessary for wealth creation as ‘land, ‘labour’ and capital. He said if it is something that leads to creation of wealth then it is only intellectual capital and not the other three. He said how Japan, korea and Singapore are making full use of their human and intellectual capital and harnessing wealth for their countrymen. He lamented the poor state and utilisation of this capital in india.
Dr Mahendra Reddy, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University, influenced students by the work and deeds of Sir M.Visveswarya and exhorted students to read and learn from the life of this great son of the country on whose birth anniversary country celebrates Engineers Day program. FST Director Dr.M.Srinivasa Reddy and Advisor of Faculty of Science and Technology of ICFAI Dr M.Raja also addressed. Faculty, students and parents participated in the event.
