APSCHE Finalises RUSA Proposals . The AP State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) has finalised proposals for grants under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), an ambitious central-government scheme to uplift the higher education in the country.

The AP State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) has finalised proposals for grants under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), an ambitious central-government scheme to uplift the higher education in the country. A meeting of all Vice-Chancellors of AP state varsities was where the proposals of each varsity has been discussed and finalized.

According to top sources, the Council made proposals to the tune of Rs 1,500 crores for all the institutes of higher learning in the State. Eight more new universities are being planned- six in Telangana and two in Seemandhra. Two tribal universities, one mining varsity, besides upgrading the existing colleges, conversion into cluster universities are being proposed. APSCHE officials will hold a meeting with the senior officers of UGC in New Delhi on January 8 where tentative proposals would be discussed and the state officials know how much amount can be drawn for the next three years period, sources said.
