Hyderabad: There are many downtrodden students, for whom a paper is a luxury unaffordable. GITAMites identified such students and distributed notebooks and stationery items to those who cannot afford it. GITAM (Deemed to be University) Hyderabad students distributed notebooks at Mamidipally, Kandi and Indrakaran Government ZPH Schools through GITAM Resident Director DVVSR Varma, ITC Senior Manager S.N.Umakanth, ITC Coordinator Vidya and GITAM NSS Coordinator Dr. P.V.Nagendra Kumar on Friday under the programme ‘Wellbeing out of waste’.

GITAMites collected the paper waste at University premises and sent the same to ITC for recycling. The ITC officials gave away the same worth of Classmate notebooks and crayons in return. The same was distributed to the primary school pupils in under-privileged areas. This programme has been continuing from 2009.

ITC Senior Manager and Coordinator told how to separate the dry and wet waste and how it contributes to the environment.

GITAM B.Tech students under the leadership of Final year student G.Manikanta also took part in this programme.
