Hyderabad: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Chairman Prof Ghanta Chakrapani released a Dictionary of Mass Communication, authored by Public Relations Guru CV Narasimha Reddi, here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, the TSPSC Chairman said that this dictionary will be a useful handbook for the students and professionals of media. He also said that Dr Reddi brought international attention to the PR courses in the Dr BR Ambedkar Open University.

Prof. Chakrapani requested the author to bring the same dictionary in Telugu too. Dr. K. Ramachandra Murthy, Editorial Director, Sakshi Media Group, said that communication and public relations professions were going phenomenally in the country and the need of the hour for public relations professionals was to update their professional skills.

Former Chief Secretary Narendra Luther recollected Dr Reddi's PR practices that won accolades from critics and media persons when both of them worked together about five decades ago.

Prof. B.P. Sanjay, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Hyderabad Central University, who penned the forward to the dictionary, described Dr Reddi as an omnipotent PR practitioner, who enriched the discipline with his tremendous contribution to its academic branch.

Dr CV Reddi, who retired as Director, I&PR Department, said that he had felt the need of a dictionary because there was a serious dearth of reference book on public relations in the Indian context. The dictionary published by the Professional Books.
