Poco has been very active lately. Month Poco launched two phones in the M8 series, namely the M8 Power and the M8x. Now Poco has launched two models, in the X8 series the Poco X8 and the Poco X8 Power. Both devices are aimed at users who want battery life in a high‑quality package without breaking the bank.
With the Poco X8 and X8 Power the company now owns four phones in its X8 series. The X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max models arrived in March of this year.

Poco X8 and X8 Power: Design
Both phones look similar to the phones in the X8 series but there are a few small differences. The Poco X8 has a camera module that is shaped like a rectangle and sticks up straight. This camera module has two openings for the cameras. The flash is placed close to this camera module. The X8 also has a design made of plastic that is split into two sections. This might be something that some people appreciate. It also shows the Poco logo in the left corner. There is a plastic edge around the sides.
Depending on the colour the Poco X8 may have design features. The orange version has a frame and camera module that stand out with a contrast. The white version adds a detail on the back.
On the other hand the Poco X8 Power takes a slightly different approach. The Poco X8 Power has a square-shaped camera module that puts the flash next to the camera cutouts. The Poco Yellow variant of the Poco X8 Power has a camera module. The Poco X8 Power also has a plastic frame that stands out against the yellow back cover. The Poco X8 Power back cover is finished with vegan leather to give a premium feel. The Poco X8 Power is 8.65 mm thick. The Poco X8 Power weighs 223 grams.
Both the X8 and X8 Power feature IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K certifications for dust and water resistance.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Display
On the front both the X8 and X8 Power feature 6.83‑inch AMOLED displays with a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz rate. Poco states that the panels support 12‑bit colour, HDR10 Plus, Dolby Vision, TV Rheinland eye protection and Wet Touch 2.0 technology.
Both phones have a brightness of 3,500 nits and are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The X8 and X8 Power also have in‑display optical fingerprint sensors. The X8 and X8 Power also have speakers that support Dolby Atmos and High‑Resolution audio.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Battery and Charging
Battery life is a feature of the X8 and X8 Power models. X8 Power in particular holds a 10,000 mAh battery making X8 Power one of the largest batteries that can be found in a smartphone in India (the Realme P4 Power has a 10,001 mAh cell). X8 Power supports wired charging at 100 watts. Wired reverse charging, at 27 watts.
The standard X8 model is not bad either: it has a 9,000 mAh battery. Can do 67 W wired fast charging. The X8 can also give power back, at 22.5 W.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Performance
In terms of performance the Poco X8 uses Qualcomms Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip. The X8 Power uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. Poco says the X8 Power is the phone in India to have this new chip. The chip is made using a 4nm process. The company says the X8 Power gets an AnTuTu score higher, than one million.
The Poco X8 Power improves on performance giving you 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage (the 128GB version has UFS 2.2 storage). At the time the Poco X8 has up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and, up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage; just like the Poco X8 Power the 128GB versions use UFS 2.2 storage.
Both phones will come with HyperOS 3 which is built on Android 16. Poco has said that people who buy these phones will get four years of operating system updates. Poco has also said that people who buy these phones will get six years of security updates.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Cameras
The Poco X8 has a 50‑megapixel rear camera and a 2‑megapixel depth sensor and it also offers a 16‑megapixel front camera.
The Poco X8 Power has a rear camera setup. It includes a 50- Sony IMX882 sensor that supports optical image stabilization also known as OIS. This is paired with an 8-megapixel -wide-angle lens. For facing shots, the device uses a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
Poco says that the X8 Power can record 4K video at 30 frames per second using both the camera and the front camera.
Poco also provides AI tools. These AI tools include Glare Removal, Erase Pro, image expansion and image enhancement. All of these AI tools can be used on both phones.
Poco X8 and X8 Power: Price in India
The price of the Poco X8 starts at ₹29,999 for the 6GB/128GB model, in India. The Poco X8 8GB/128GB and Poco X8 8GB/256GB models will cost ₹32,999 and ₹35,999 respectively.
Meanwhile the Poco X8 Power costs ₹35,999 for the 8GB/128GB version. The 8GB/256GB version is listed as ₹38,999.
Poco is also giving bank promotions worth ₹3,000 for both phones. The Poco X8 and the Poco X8 Power will be available for sale in India on Flipkart on September 11, at 12:00 PM.
