Google CEO Sundar Pichai joined the celebrations for World Photography Day by posting a set of images on his official Instagram account. What made his post stand out was the source - every photo was taken on the Pixel 11, Google's latest smartphone that launched on August 12 and hit shelves on August 20.

Sharing six images in the post, Pichai wrote, "Sharing a few shots taken by #teampixel and Googlers on the new Pixel 11, in honor of World Photography Day!" The lineup included a striking black-and-white shot of a dog, a vibrant frame of flowers with a bee, an image of a blue whale, and a building shot - together highlighting just how versatile the Pixel 11's camera system is.

Pixel 11 Camera Hardware

The Pixel 11 series arrives with updated camera hardware paired with on-device computational photography powered by Gemini Intelligence and the Google Tensor G6 chip. The main camera is 48MP on the model and 50MP on the Pro model. This camera includes optical image stabilisation and fast dual-pixel autofocus. The autofocus is tuned for dynamic range and better low-light shots. The ultrawide lens is 13MP on the Pixel 11 and 48MP on the Pixel 11 Pro. This lens has built-in autofocus. The macro autofocus works for landscapes and for close-up detail. The telephoto camera uses a periscope design. The telephoto camera offers 5x magnification. Google's computational super-resolution technology is also used to enhance high-resolution digital zoom.

Smarter Software Features

On the software side, Instant Night Sight benefits from the Tensor G6's upgraded image signal processor, making low-light and night-sky shots up to 4.5 times faster than before while reducing blur and exposure time. Magic Capture analyses roughly 400 frames per shot to freeze fast-moving subjects, delivering a sharp 12MP still with automatic deblurring alongside a synced video. Meanwhile, Camera Looks lets users pick a visual style before shooting, with presets like Natural, Shadows, and Vanilla, plus room for custom tuning.
