The launch of the Vivo V80, in India is confirmed for October 6. The company has shared important details before its official release. The new Vivo V80 will have a 7,200 mAh battery. The cameras will use ZEISS technology. The phone will have a 144 Hz display. It will run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.
Vivo V80 launch date and availability
Vivo will launch the V80 in India on October 6 at 12:00 PM (Indian Standard Time). The smartphone will be available for purchase on the Vivo website, Amazon, Flipkart and, in stores. It will come in three colours: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.
The 7,200 mAh battery is the major upgrade
The Vivo V80 will carry a 7,200 mAh battery, which's the largest battery ever used in a V-series phone according to Vivo. The Vivo V80 will also support 90W FlashCharge technology.
Vivo says it can provide up to 14 hours of browsing and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback. Vivo also says that the battery can reach a 50 percent charge in thirty minutes when using its charging mode.
144 Hz OLED display and ZEISS cameras
It has been confirmed that the Vivo V80 will have a 6.59‑inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution, a 144‑Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of up to 5,000 nits. For pictures the Vivo V80 will have a 50‑megapixel ZEISS camera with optical image stabilization a 50‑megapixel ZEISS night telephoto camera with optical image stabilization and three‑times optical zoom and a ZEISS ultra‑wide‑angle camera. The Vivo V80 also includes a 50‑megapixel camera with autofocus for selfies and group photos. The Vivo V80 can record 4K video at 60 frames per second. Can shoot 4K cinematic footage and it offers more than 30 creative tools, such as the AI Diwali Portrait 2.0.
OriginOS 7 and six years of updates
The new Vivo V80 is set to be the phone in the V-series that will run OriginOS 7 which is built on Android 17. The company has also assured customers that the device will receive security updates for up to six years.
Vivo V80 price in India
Vivo has not yet said how much the V80 will cost in India. Some reports say the phone might be in the range. The exact price and storage options will be shared when the phone is officially launched on October 6.
The processor still has not been officially confirmed. A Geekbench listing points to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 but this processor detail remains unconfirmed, by Vivo.
