Ameenpur: 55 suspects nabbed during search operations
51 two-wheelers and 10 autos also seized
Ameenpur: The police conducted cordon and search operations in Narragudem (JSNURM) Colony since the early hours of Wednesday, to 'identify those involved in anti-social activities and thefts'. Local DSP Rajeswar Rao supervised the operation under Ameenpur police limits.
The search resulted in seizure of 51 two-wheelers, ten autos and taking into custody 55 suspects, including an ex-offender. The suspects were being questioned. Speaking to the media, Superintendent of Police Chandrasekhar Reddy stated that there was more scope for suspects to reside in towns rather than in rural areas. He said there was more chance for those from other districts and States to stay in towns for eking out their means of livelihood and participate in anti-social activities. Hence the cordon search operations were taken up, the SP stated.
Those who took part in the operations included local CI Prabhakar, Naresh, Venukumar, ASIs and the division police personnel.
