Big win for TRS in Peddapalli dist MPP polls
TRS continued its supremacy by winning majority of seats in the elections held for MPPs and Vice-MPPs along with Co-option members’ seats in Peddapalli district on Friday.
Peddapalli: TRS continued its supremacy by winning majority of seats in the elections held for MPPs and Vice-MPPs along with Co-option members' seats in Peddapalli district on Friday.
Election for 13 ZTPC and 138 MPTC seats were held in two phases on May 6 and May 10. The ruling party won 13 ZPTC and 138 MPTC posts.
The ruling TRS party swept the Zilla Parishad polls by winning all 13 ZPTC along with winning majority of 138 MPTC seats in Mandal Parishad polls. Continuing its winning streak, the TRS party won 13 MPPs in Mandal Parishad President elections that were held on Friday.
Even though, the TRS party did not get majority in Peddapalli and Ramgiri mandals in which it had won only 7 MPTC out of 17 in Peddapalli mandal and 6 MPTC seats out of 12 in Ramgiri mandal, the TRS party grabbed both MPP seats in Peddapalli and Ramgiri mandals.
It is to be noted that, TRS had nominated the former MLA, Putta Madhu for the ZP chairman post. The elections for ZP chairman and vice-chairman posts will be held on June 8 but that will be just a formality as the candidature of Putta Madhu has already been declared by the TRS.
