Birthday wishes to AIMIM floor leader, MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi
Akbaruddin Owaisi, the floor leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and MLA from Chandrayangutta is celebrating his birthday today.
Akbaruddin Owaisi, the floor leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and MLA from Chandrayangutta is celebrating his birthday today. He is known for his controversial speeches which sparked social media outrage several times. He ventured into politics in 1999 after defeating Majlis Bachao Tehreek president Amanullah Khan. Later, he was elected as MLA consecutively for five times from Chandrayangutta.
He is remembered for his bullet injury in the abdomen in 2011 when assailants attacked with knives and opened gunfire. Though he is undergoing treatment, he is still suffering from pain. The attack is nearing to nine years and the bullet remains still lodged near his kidney after the doctors warned that removal of the bullet may affect his legs.
Controversial speeches:
Despite many hate speeches, his speech at in Nirmal town of Adilabad district sparked social media outrage. He criticized Hindu gods and the Bharatiya Janata Party in his two-hour-long speech. He was arrested on January 8, 2013, after a case filed against him over his speech. However, he was granted bail on 15 February 2013.

Akbarudding is the managing director of Owaisi Hospital, set up by his father late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi for the welfare of Muslims. He studied in Hyderabad public school. He became the floor leader of the party in 2018.
