On the occasion of World Population Day on Thursday, a blood donation camp was organised jointly by IMA Neelagiri, Surya Hospital, Indian Red Cross Society and Lions Club, Nalgonda on the premises of Surya Hospital in the town.

Nalgonda: On the occasion of World Population Day on Thursday, a blood donation camp was organised jointly by IMA Neelagiri, Surya Hospital, Indian Red Cross Society and Lions Club, Nalgonda on the premises of Surya Hospital in the town. As many as 121 donors donated blood on the day. Students from Sri Ramananda Tirtha Institutes, local citizens and their friends donated blood.

Addressing the gathering, speakers Dr Pulla Rao, president IMA Neelagiri, Dr Jayaprakash Reddy, State Council member TSIMA and Amarender Reddy, chairman of Indian Red Cross Society, Nalgonda stressed the need of blood donation.

Dr Jayaprakash Reddy appealed to healthy people to donate blood once in a year so that there would not be any shortage, and requested all organisations to come forward to conduct regular blood donation camps.

Dr Pulla Rao said IMA was the only organisation conducting many blood donation camps, and collected more than thousand bottles so far.

Doctors Anita Rani, Santosh Reddy and Pravalika, social activists Chandrashekhar and Suresh Gupta, Lions Club members Y Prabhakar Reddy, Ananta Reddy, Srinivas Reddy and Venkat Reddy and staff of the Red Cross Society and the hospitals participated in the camp.
