Nagarkurnool: District Collector Hemanta Keshav Patil reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls with the representatives of recognised political parties on Wednesday and shared details regarding notices, hearings, DEO-level verification and disposal of cases. The Collector said a total of 1,15,824 notices had been generated and distributed across the three Assembly constituencies in Nagarkurnool district.
So far, 1,15,494 hearings had been conducted, while the hearing period had expired in 323 cases and the rescheduled period had expired in seven cases. At the DEO level, 1,036 cases were pending, including 123 cases has been pending for more than five days. A total of 6,904 cases had been verified, while five cases were yet to be verified.
The Collector also explained the category-wise disposal status. As many as 509 cases were found ineligible for finalisation, while 1,06,793 cases were marked for finalisation after hearings and another 3,862 cases were marked for finalisation without hearings.
He said a total of 5,02,767 votes had been marked for finalisation under other categories. The Collector also shared details relating to logical discrepancies and no-mapping cases with the political party representatives. Constituency-wise, 43,569 notices were recorded in Nagarkurnool, 39,594 in Achampet and 32,687 in Kollapur. The Collector said the progress of the SIR process in each constituency was reviewed. Patil stated that every stage of the SIR process was being conducted transparently and in accordance with the prescribed rules. He asked political party representatives to bring any objections or suggestions to the notice of the concerned officials. He said the registration process under SIR would conclude at 4 pm on Wednesday.
Election Section Superintendent Ravi Kumar, Election DT Kalpana and representatives of recognised political parties, including MD Habib, MDHussain, Balakrishna, Hari and Ramakrishna, attended the meeting.
