High Court serves notices to Ram Gopal Varma

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has issued notices to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma while responding to a petition filed by victims of Disha encounter.

The counsel for the petitioners told the High Court that the decision of Varma to make a movie on the lives of victims was causing a lot of emotional pain to them. He also said that the making of the movie would also force the victims leave their native villages.

He said that the film maker was making attempts to show the victims as villains in the movie. He urged the High Court to issue orders of stay on the release of the movie on Disha.

The High Court later adjourned the matter for two weeks after issuing the notices to the film director. It may be noted here that the father of Disha, Sridhar Reddy, has already filed a case and made a similar plea to the High Court.
