Everyone must participate in the mission to make Wanaparthy a TB-free district: District Collector Adarsh Surabhi
In Short
District Collector Adarsh Surabhi has called upon everyone to work collectively towards eradicating tuberculosis (TB) in the district.

a program was held at the Collectorate meeting hall to present certificates to 57 Gram Panchayats selected as TB-free under the 'TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (TB-Free India Campaign)
Wanaparthy District: On Thursday, a program was held at the Collectorate meeting hall to present certificates to 57 Gram Panchayats selected as TB-free under the 'TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (TB-Free India Campaign). District Collector Adarsh Surabhi attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector urged everyone to become partners in the effort to transform Wanaparthy into a TB-free district. He emphasized that since TB spreads rapidly, it is crucial to detect the disease at an early stage and provide timely treatment.
He stated that for the past two years, mobile X-ray vehicles have been used to conduct TB diagnostic tests across villages, identify suspected cases, and provide medication to those in need. He added that authorities are identifying individuals with TB symptoms in every village for testing and are monitoring the situation to ensure that diagnosed patients receive their medication regularly.
The Collector advised TB patients to take their prescribed medication without fail, warning that discontinuing the treatment midway could prevent a complete cure and pose a risk of spreading the disease to others. Instructions were issued to ASHA workers and ANMs to continuously monitor whether TB patients are taking their medication regularly.
It was advised that staff working in the TB control program should also safeguard their own health and wear masks whenever necessary. Emphasis was placed on implementing ongoing programs more effectively to transform the district into a fully TB-free district in the future.
It was noted with pleasure that, as part of the 'TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (TB-Free India Campaign), 57 gram panchayats in Wanaparthy district were selected as TB-free and received certificates today. Appreciation was expressed to the ASHA workers, ANMs, and Sarpanches who worked towards making their villages TB-free.
The Collector directed everyone to work in coordination to identify and treat TB cases in the district and to take measures aimed at fully curing the approximately 400 TB cases already identified. A call was made to sustain the TB eradication program and raise public awareness.
On this occasion, the officials, public representatives, and medical staff present took the 'TB Mukt Bharat' pledge.
Earlier, as part of the 'TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan', the launch of 'Josh Teams' by Union Minister J.P. Nadda in New Delhi was viewed via video conference from the Collector's office. Subsequently, certificates of appreciation were presented by the District Collector to 57 TB-free Gram Panchayats. Officials highlighted the notable achievement of Davajipalli Gram Panchayat, which secured a 'Gold Certificate' by maintaining itps TB-free status for three consecutive years.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr. Bhaskar Naik, Zilla Parishad CEO Yadaiah, District Welfare Officer Sudharani, GMC Principal Mallikarjun, along with other health department officials, staff, ASHA workers, ANMs, and Sarpanches, participated in the event.
