Fire breaks out at Medchal checkpost, two shops gutted

A massive fire broke out near the Medchal check-post late Saturday night leaving two adjacent furniture shops were completely gutted after flames suddenly erupted. Due to the intensity of the fire, the blaze spread to neighbouring shops as well. The area was engulfed in thick smoke amidst towering flames, creating a terrifying atmosphere.

Upon receiving information from locals, fire personnel and police rushed to the scene. Firefighters worked hard to bring the blaze fully under control. Fire officials stated that the presence of large quantities of wood, foam, and chemicals caused the fire to spread rapidly within moments, resulting in the billowing of thick black smoke.

Officials breathed a sigh of relief that a major tragedy involving loss of life was averted, as the area was deserted at that late hour. The furniture shop owners expressed their anguish over property losses amounting to crores of rupees.

Police indicated that a short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire. A case has been registered, and the police have intensified their investigation into all aspects of the incident.
