Former BRS MLA Rega Kantha Rao booked in alleged assault case

A case has been registered against former BRS MLA Rega Kantha Rao at the Panjagutta police station. The police filed the case following a complaint from a young woman alleging that he sexually harassed, deceived, and physically exploited her under the pretext of marriage.

According to the complaint, the victim said that he exploited her physically and alleged that he secretly recorded private videos of her without her knowledge.

The victim claimed that he collected a large sum of money from her under the guise of real estate investments. She also revealed that he accessed her phone and sent messages to her female friend in an attempt to get close to her.

Based on the complaint, the Panjagutta police registered the case on the 26th of this month. The police have initiated an expedited investigation, charging Rega Kantha Rao under Sections 69 (sexual intercourse by deceitful means) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
