Hyderabad: TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday alleged that the BJP and MIM were having a secret understanding to gain political mileage by dividing people on communal lines.

Speaking on the 72nd Martyrdom Day of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Bhavan, Uttam said that the incidents of violence and then the result of Bhainsa Municipality elections were a clear example of how these parties were making political gains by creating communal divide among the people. TRS is having an understanding with the BJP at the Centre while it is sailing with MIM in Telangana.

He said BJP leaders give media statements against TRS government, but their government at the Centre takes no action against the corruption and irregularities of TRS leaders.

He said despite having complete information about the scams and embezzlement of public funds by the TRS government and demand by Congress party for CBI probe, BJP government is not taking any action.

The TPCC chief also accused the TRS of winning elections by distributing money and liquor and described the trend as a big threat to democracy. Uttam said the role played by State Election Commission in the recently held municipal elections was highly objectionable, condemnable and questionable.

The TPCC chief said that the soul of Mahatma Gandhi would be in pain due to the undemocratic behaviour of the BJP and TRS regimes. Uttam said that the Congress is following his teachings and ideals to bring justice and equality for all sections of society.
