Serilingampally: Local division BJP president Raju Shetty on Tuesday undertook a 'padayatra' in Papireddy Colony to become aware of people's problems. He was accompanied by State party leaders Yoganand, Executive Committee member Jnanendra Prasad. The BJP leaders called upon the people to teach a lesson to TRS in the ensuing GHMC elections.

The leaders while moving in localities interacted with residents and made enquiries about their problems. Addressing locals, they alleged that sanitation in Wambe Basti was worst, with none showing any interest to improve the situation. They pointed out two residents of the locality had recently died of dengue fever.

According to the leaders, there was a need for laying CC roads in the locality. They said sewerage was overflowing daily near the local railway station hampering people's movement. The leaders called for immediate laying of new drainage line, while appealing to officials and people's representatives to immediately respond and take up remedial steps.

Among those present during the padayatra were senior party leaders Maram Venkat, Shanti Bhushan Reddy, Ramesh Somi Shetty, Sayanna, general secretary Chitta Reddy Prasad, Prashanth Chary, Sai Lakshmi, Balraju, Ravinder, Srikanth, Jagdeep, Arvind Gupta, Anji and Durgesh.
