Hyderabad metro will soon chug into Old City, said Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao speaking in the assembly session today.

Responding to CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Sridhar Babu on delay in metro works, KTR said that Hyderabad metro works were completed at a brisk pace when compared to other metros in the country.

"By the end of this year, the metro train will be run to a total of 66 km," said the minister adding that around Rs 14,132 crores have been spent on the metro along with Rs 3,000 crore for acquiring land. The HMRL has secured 80 awards, he added.

The minister also said that the metro route will be extended to Old City.
