A man was allegedly attacked by a local TRS leader here at Rehmath Nagar in Jubilee Hills on Saturday.
It is learned that the victim identified as Umakanth, a pan shop owner was stopped by the TRS leader K Arun Kumar who picked up a quarrel with Umakanth and set the former's bike on fire.
However, the police were alerted after the victim's bike was damaged. The TRS leader and his associates were also said to have used filthy language and got into a scuffle with the police.
Based on the Umakanth's complaint, the police registered a case against the TRS leaders and his associates under relevant sections of IPC.
