The GHMC officials imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on two people for throwing waste on road.

Ravindar Reddy, a resident of Venkatadri colony in Chandanagar threw the construction waste on the road for which he was fined of Rs 30,000. In another case, a liquor shop at Moosapet was fined of Rs 10,000 for throwing waste on road in addition to not arranging dust bins.

The fine is being collected under section 119 of the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, 1955, the notice issued to Ravindar said.

Earlier, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) asked the citizens to stop littering and throwing waste on roads as a part of Swachh Survekshan 2019.

It already said that a fine of Rs 100 is collected for littering on roads and open spaces and Rs 1000 from shop owners for throwing waste into drains and Rs 10,000 for unauthorised debris into nalas.
