Hyderabad: Will there be lockdown or not? When will a decision be taken? When will the Cabinet meeting be held? These are the questions that have been worrying the people in the state.

This situation had arisen because there has been no official communication regarding the Cabinet meeting. On June 28, when Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a high-level review meeting, it was indicated that the Cabinet meeting might be held on June 1 or 2 to discuss whether or not to impose lockdown and if it were to be imposed then what kind of stringent measures should be there.

With no decision in regard to the Cabinet meeting and the Chief Minister reviewing the developments form his farm house, it is being said that the government was having second thoughts. It was mulling on imposing restrictions in certain areas where the cases were very high rather than to go in for a complete lockdown. This option, it is said, is being examined since another lockdown would mean another blow to the economy which has started recovering from the earlier national lockdown.

Speculations are that the government might declare some areas as containment and red zone areas and impose restrictions on the movement of people. However, the picture is likely to be clear only on Thursday or Friday.
