Karimnagar: The High Court on Thursday stayed the orders of a single judge bench which stalled the polls in the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation.

Following a petition filed by the State government, the High Court issued orders in favour of the conduct of the elections. The government challenged the decision of the single judge bench and appealed to the Division Bench to grant permission to hold civic polls in Karimnagar.

The government counsel argued that the State Election Commission (SEC) and the official machinery have made all arrangements for conducting the polls and staying polls in one municipal corporation were unfair.

Responding to the government appeal, the court has given nod and stayed previous orders. With this, the line cleared for the polls for Karimnagar Municipal Corporation. The fresh order paved the way for polls as scheduled.
