Karimnagar: Welcoming the TRS government's decision to celebrate centenary birth celebrations of former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao, NV Subash, the grandson of PV Narasimha Rao, sought the government should honour PV Narasimha Rao by presenting him Bharat Ratna Award.

NV Subash reminded the enormous services rendered by PV Narasimha Rao as a Chief Minister of the then united Andhra Pradesh and as a Prime Minister.

Though PV Narasimha Rao was a Congress leader, recognising his services made to the country, the TRS government decided to celebrate his birth anniversary for a year.

Bajjapuri Venkataiah, one of the close associates of PV Narasimha Rao, welcomed the State government's decision. Remembering the days spent with PV, B Venkataiah informed that when they were in Chanda Camp during the freedom struggle, PV gave courage to all of them with his excellent speaking skills.

As a Chief Minister he brought ceiling system in the then united Andhra Pradesh and as a Prime Minister he brought new foreign policy. Because of these two unique reforms, the country was able to recover from economic crisis. The freedom struggle pension which I am getting is because of his efforts only, he stated.

PV Narasimha Rao took charge as the Prime Minister, when the county was suffering with economic crisis. With good foresight, he led the country towards development bringing remarkable and revolutionary reforms in the Indian economical system, he informed.

Not only economic reforms, PV was also responsible for bringing several reforms in the country such as lands reforms, educational reforms and establishment of residential school system, Venkataiah added.
