Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government is acting against State Bifurcation Law and trying to construct a new lift irrigation project aiming to lift 80,000 cusecs of water from Krishna River through Pothireddypadu project at Srisailam.

He said if the AP government constructs lift irrigation project, then Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda and Rangareddy districts will face severe drinking and irrigation water shortage.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had discussed with experts and will fight legally against the AP government's decision. He informed that the CM had sanctioned Rs 12 crore additional funds for the irrigation needs of Khammam district.
