KTR launches Telangana's 2020 AI success report

Hyderabad: The study "Telangana's Year of AI- 2020 and Beyond" was launched by Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao in Hyderabad. The report highlights the AI System of Telangana, which outlines a six-pronged strategy for achieving the vision of positioning Telangana as a global hub for artificial intelligence and fostering social innovation.

"Last year, on January 2, 2020, we celebrated 2020 as Telangana's Year of AI. Exactly one year later, I'm pleased to share the success of the year of AI programme, which not only survived, but also flourished in the pandemic. The initiative was a catalyst that catapulted Telangana to the forefront of the AI race for excellence today," said KT Rama Rao.

To drive the implementation of the AI System, the government has developed T-AIM (Telangana AI Mission). During the entire year, over 120 activities were held in total.

The study mentioned projects and activities initiated by a range of partners such as Intel, Hyderabad International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), India Public Health Foundation (PHFI), World Economic Forum Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR), Amazon Web Services (AWS), nVIDIA, Microsoft, Wadhwani AI, Hyderabad Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hexagon, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Hyderabad, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) and many more.
