Mahabubnagar: A large-scale protest was held in front of the Mahabubnagar District Collectorate on Monday under the leadership of District Congress Committee (DCC) president A Sanjeev Mudiraj.
The protesters raised objections to the Election Commission’s handling of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. MLAs Yennam Srinivas Reddy and G Madhusudan Reddy, along with Minority Finance Corporation chairman Obedulla Kotwal, attended.
The Congress leaders demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the allegations concerning the SIR process, complete transparency in electoral-roll revision and measures to safeguard democracy and voting rights.
