Man held for blackmailing woman
The Rachakonda cybercrime officials on Saturday arrested one person for allegedly sharing objectional pictures of a woman on social media.
Hyderabad: The Rachakonda cybercrime officials on Saturday arrested one person for allegedly sharing objectional pictures of a woman on social media.
The accused identified as B Nagaraju (26) was arrested from his residence at Peerzadiguda in Uppal on Saturday.
According to officials, on receipt of a complaint from the victim in which she stated that the accused had send objectionable and abusive photos of the victim on Facebook messenger to victim's sister.
Officials registered a case under 354D, 419 IPC and 66 C, 67, 67 A of IT Act and took up investigation.
The accused reportedly admitted that in the year 2015, he used to follow her while she was going to college and both became friends. During this period, accused took photos with the victim on his mobile phone.
Later, the accused expressed his intention to marry the victim, but she did not accept his proposal and stopped talking to him. Soon after the victim's parents got her married.
Since then, the accused developed animosity towards her and decided to defame her character in the society.
Later, accused blackmailed her and demanded that she contact him through video call unclothed, or he would send the photos of her to her husband. Due to fear, the victim did so but the accused took screen shots and started blackmailing her.
