No district in Telangana is coronavirus-free, says Health Minister Eatala Rajender
State registers highest cases in a single day (209)
Hyderabad: Telangana reported season's highest positive cases so far (209) even as nine people died in the last 24 hours.
The overall Covid count rose to 4,320 in the State. The earlier highest (206) cases were registered on June 6.
GHMC accounted for the highest (175 cases) among the fresh cases. Medchal reported 10 new cases followed by Ranga Reddy with 7 cases.
Instances of Covid patients dying continues with nine deaths pushing the total count to 165.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan spoke over phone with Telangana Health Minister Eatala Rajender about Covid situation in the State.
In a tweet, he mentioned that Hyderabad remains the epicentre and adjacent districts majorly affected and no district is corona-free. Earlier, Telangana had three districts--Warangal Rural, Yadadri Bhongir and Wanaparthy labelled as corona-free districts but they too reported new cases losing the corona-free districts tag.
Meanwhile, Eatala has called for striking junior doctors from Gandhi Hospital for talks at Secretariat in the evening in wake of their decision to continue the stir after announcing to withdraw in his presence at a meeting held at Gandhi auditorium on Wednesday evening. He told them to withdraw the strike immediately as the government was positive to their demands.
