Police seize 1.49 cr cash during vehicle check

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police seized Rs 1.49 crore net cash from two persons at Jubilee Hills check post during vehicle checking.
According to the police, during the vehicle checking in view of the ensuing elections, at 8 pm on Saturday the police stopped a bike on which two persons were travelling and found two bags containing Rs 1.49 crore unaccountable cash.
Police took the two persons Gopinath (47, Accountant) and Raghavender (32, Software employee), both residents of Adikmet, into custody.
On enquiry they said that they collected the amount at Peddamma Temple from a person by name Ramesh, who is a realtor and they are moving towards Adikmet and said they did not have any documents pertaining to the net cash.
By seizing the amount police took up investigation.
