Wanaparthy: The Pebbair police in Wanaparthy district have warned the auto drivers and truck drivers for indulging in various traffic violations and becoming the cause for accidents on the roads leading to killing of innocent people.

As part of the training programme for the auto and truck drivers, the Pebbair traffic police warned the auto drivers of severe legal action against anyone indulging in traffic violations like overload, high speed beyond stipulated limit, and drunk and drive. "We have been watching that auto drivers are deliberately overloading their autos to earn extra bucks. This is against the rules and no auto driver should allow more than four persons and if found, they will be penalised and punished," said SI Vijay Kumar.

He said the truck drivers and auto drivers sometimes were driving without licences and without renewing their insurance. This is not good for them as it would backfire for them in the event of accidents. Therefore, the auto drivers and truck drivers are instructed to shun drunk driving and overloading and ensure safe travel for the passengers.
