Secunderabad Cantonment: Secunderabad Cantonment Board Chief Executive Officer S V R Chandrasekhar on Tuesday held discussions with leaders of all parties. D B Devender (Congress), Akula Nagesh (BJP), Muppidi Madhukar (TDP), M Narsimha (CPI) and others took part in the deliberations.

Speaking at the meeting, Bottu Prabhakar (TRS) suggested that the elections be held on the basis of party symbols. He favoured direct polls to elect the SCB vice-president and incorporation of photographs in the voter lists. The TRS leader and others wanted the elections to be held at the earliest so as to avoid problems facing people with regard to building regulations with the board staff. They called for changes in the regulations to avert such problems, while pointing out that lack of proper direction by the SCB members, who should support the public, was giving rise to such problems for both people and the board officials. Representatives of the political parties urged the CEO to take steps to ensure that development works be not held up on account of elections.
