Students fall ill at a hostel in Pebbair of Wanaparthy
Around 25 students reportedly fell ill after suspected food poisoning on Wednesday night at the Women’s Polytechnic College hostel, on the outskirts of Pebbair in Wanaparthy district.
According to the ANI NEWS post kn X handle, the students developed symptoms including vomiting, fever and weakness. Several were taken to Pebbair Primary Health Centre (PHC) for medical examinations, while few students who were seriously unwell was treated.
The condition of the students is said to be stable. Meanwhile, there are allegations that the students fell ill following consuming chicken curry. However, the actual cause of the illness is yet to be probed.
After reports of the students’ illness, Pebbair Municipal Chairman Srinivas Goud, Congress town president Dayakar Reddy and others visited the college to check on the students.
