Mulugu: Mulugu District Collector Borkhade Hemant Sahadeorao on Monday launched a ‘talking doll’ aimed at helping children understand the difference between safe and unsafe touch. The doll was unveiled at the Collector’s office, where Child Protection Department officials demonstrated its features.

The doll responds when specific parts of its body are touched and explains whether the touch is appropriate or unsafe. Appreciating the initiative, the Collector directed officials to use the dolls extensively during school awareness programmes.

He urged children to speak openly to parents and teachers about uncomfortable touches or harassment. He also stressed the need for regular awareness programmes on child rights, protection and prevention of child marriages. Two dolls have been arranged under Mission Vatsalya. One will be handed over to the District Court, while the other will be installed at Bala Raksha Bhavan.
