Three-Month Free Ration distribution to end today in Telangana

The facility to collect the three-month free ration quota at once in Telangana is set to end on Saturday. To clear warehouse space for upcoming paddy procurement and to prevent public inconvenience due to changing weather conditions, the government had arranged for the distribution of rice allocations for August through October in a single installment.

The distribution of such a large quantity of rice at once led to heavy crowding at distribution centers over the past few days; consequently, the government had previously decided to extend the deadline to September 5.

The officials have clarified that families who have not yet collected their quota must visit their nearest dealer immediately to pick up their stock. They emphasised that if today's deadline is missed, the supplies for the previous months will no longer be available.

Meanwhile, the ration card e-KYC process has been simplified using technology, eliminating the need for people to wait endlessly at dealer centers. Officials have introduced a system allowing beneficiaries to complete facial recognition via their mobile phones without having to visit Aadhaar centers.
