The Telangana Rashtra Samithi continued it winning streak in local body polls in erstwhile Nalgonda district. Of the total 31 ZPTC seats in Nalgonda district, TRS won 24 seats and Congress 7.

Nalgonda/Suryapet/Yadadri-Bhongir: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi continued it winning streak in local body polls in erstwhile Nalgonda district. Of the total 31 ZPTC seats in Nalgonda district, TRS won 24 seats and Congress 7. Similarly, of the total 345 MPTC seats in the district, TRS bagged 201 seats while Congress had to be content with 122 seats and others with 16 MPTC seats.

TRS-ZP chairman candidate of Nalgonda district Banda Narender Reddy was given a tough fight by his rival Congress candidate Komatireddy Mohan Reddy, brother of Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and won the Narketpally ZPTC seat with only 11 votes majority.

Suryapet district, which is represented by Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy and TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, has 23 ZPTC seats. Of them, TRS clinched 19 seats, while Congress was limited to four. Likewise, of the total 235 MPTC seats, TRS secured 146 seats, Congress 76 and others 17.

In historic Yadadri–Bhongir district, of the total 17 ZPTC seats, ruling TRS won 14 seats leaving the remaining three seats to Congress. Similarly, of the total 177 MPTC seats in the district, TRS won in 89 seats, Congress 71 and others 17. TRS - ZP chairman candidate of Yadadri-Bhongir district Alimineti Sandeep Reddy, son of former Minister Alimineti Madhava Reddy, won Bommalaramaram mandal ZPTC seat with a record majority of 919 votes.

Speaking to media, Minister Jagadish Reddy stated that TRS got the expected results in Parishad elections in erstwhile Nalgonda district. He stated that the victory in Parishad elections in erstwhile Nalgonda district shows the faith of people in Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's ruling. He thanked party leaders, cadre and people for the TRS victory.

Meanwhile, Komatireddy Mohan Reddy of Congress, who was defeated by Banda Narender Reddy of TRS by just 11 votes from Narketpally ZPTC seat expressed his doubt over the result and expressed his displeasure for denying recounting by officials concerned. He termed officials' act as unilateral. He informed that he would knock the doors of the court for justice.
