Unaware of husband's death, mentally ill woman spends 3 days with body in Nizamabad

A mentally ill woman, unaware of her husband's death has spent three days with the dead body here at Nizamabad. The incident came to light after a milk vendor and neighbours alerted the police following a foul smell from her house.

Getting into details, Shakuntala was residing with her husband Limba Reddy (70) at Kanteshwar new housing board colony in Nizamabad. Her daughter has moved to England and her son is residing in Hyderabad. Limba Reddy is learned to have died due to the age-related ailments three days ago. However, Shakuntala acted normal unaware of his husband's death. On Wednesday, a milk vendor alerted the colony residents after a foul smell from Shankuntala's house.

The colony residents alerted the police who examined the body and shifted for post-mortem. Limba Reddy's son was informed about father's death who told the police that his father died due to the ill-health. Rural SI Prabhakar registered a case and launched an investigation.
